Alex is an illustrator and designer raised in Houston, Texas. Growing up, he spent his nights staying up way too late, jamming “Bad Romance” on repeat and sketching lineups with made-up deadlines. He enrolled in the fashion design program at the Savannah College of Art & Design, and all his stars were aligning for his future in fashion—less Gap ... more McQueen. A tale as old as the Millennial generation, student debt kept him from finishing school. Fired up and determined, Alex made it to New York Fashion Week anyway, paying his way there by bartending.

After saving (not) enough, Alex moved to NYC to work with the famed costume embroidery atelier, Penn and Fletcher. But thinking about the climate impact of the fashion industry, living through a Tr*mp presidency, and still battling student debt changed Alex, and he pivoted into politics. Alex is the Content Production Specialist at #VOTEPROCHOICE, a project of Democrats.com, fighting to elect prochoice candidates from the top to the bottom of the ballot. His work promoted the most widely used voter guide in the 2020 election cycle, and he loves using his creativity to empower American voters.

When Alex isn’t doodling comic book fantasies or keeping friends up to date about current events, you’ll find him cooking up a storm for his husband in Austin, Texas.
